Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Curate (“we,” “us”) is a social platform for discovering, rating, and reviewing music. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Curate, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address, username, and password (or an identifier from your chosen sign-in provider).
- Profile content. Anything you add to your profile or post on Curate — ratings, reviews, lists, favorites, follows, and listening activity.
- Connected services. If you link Spotify or another music service, we receive the account and catalog data that service shares with us so we can match albums and display your activity.
- Usage data. Device, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and interactions, collected automatically when you use the site.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve Curate.
- Personalize recommendations and your feed.
- Display your public profile and content to other users.
- Communicate with you about your account or service updates.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security issues.
Third-party services
Curate is built on top of a small set of providers that process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Vercel — frontend hosting, analytics, and speed insights.
- PostHog — product analytics so we can understand how the service is used.
- Spotify and other music providers — catalog data and, if you connect your account, listening data.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but parts of Curate may not work without them.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers listed above, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Curate and its users. Content you post publicly (reviews, ratings, lists, profile) is visible to other users by design.
Your choices
- Edit or remove content from your profile at any time.
- Disconnect linked music services from your account settings.
- Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing us at the address below.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep it for legal or security reasons.
Children
Curate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the product.
