Where to Start with slayr

A listening order for slayr, from the 16-minute AVANT NOVA to the 22-track Half Blood (BloodLuxe), with track counts, runtimes and Curate listener ratings for every project.

Start with AVANT NOVA, then Half Blood (BloodLuxe). AVANT NOVA is slayr’s newest project and the shortest way in: six tracks in under 17 minutes. Half Blood (BloodLuxe) is the best-rated and most-rated slayr album on Curate, and the one to commit an hour to once you know you’re in. Everything below is built from Curate’s own catalog data and listener ratings — the sample is small, and we’ll say so as we go.

Who is slayr?

slayr is a rapper Spotify files under rage rap and underground hip hop, with a little over 313,000 Spotify followers as of October 2026. Curate’s catalog has 17 slayr releases from April 2022 to July 2026, nine of them multi-track projects. That’s a lot to sort through, which is what this guide is for.

What order should I listen to slayr in?

Here’s the order we’d suggest, with Curate’s average for each. Scores are out of 10.

The reasoning is simple. Lead with the two records our listeners rated highest, shortest first, so you find out quickly whether slayr is for you. Then work backwards through the earlier albums in descending order of score. Every album here except Half Blood (BloodLuxe) has a single Curate rating, all from the same listener, so treat the lower half of the list as one person’s take.

What is AVANT NOVA?

AVANT NOVA came out on July 10, 2026. It’s six tracks and 16 minutes 34 seconds long, in this order: “promise”, “switch my swag”, “nova”, “i got taste”, “having anxiety is annoying” and “raise my voice”. No track runs past 3:07. It has one Curate rating so far, an 8.0, logged the day it came out:

“perfection. slayr you are the goat.”
@jake on AVANT NOVA

What does the AVANT NOVA album cover look like?

AVANT NOVA by slayr, album cover
AVANT NOVA by slayr (2026).

The cover is a detailed line illustration of a coiled dragon, surrounded by jagged crystal shapes, printed in a gradient that runs from blue at the bottom left to pink and red at the top right, on a white background. It’s a long way from a photo cover, and it stands out in a grid.

Should I play Half Blood or Half Blood (BloodLuxe)?

Play BloodLuxe; it contains all of Half Blood. The original Half Blood came out on November 5, 2025: 12 tracks, just under 30 minutes. Half Blood (BloodLuxe) followed on March 6, 2026, with ten new songs as disc one (about 27 minutes, from “Brain Fog” to “Died But Came Back”) and the original Half Blood running order as disc two. Spotify carries two editions of each, one of which leaves out “Power 4”; the version linked here has it.

It’s the slayr album Curate listeners have spent the most time with: three ratings from two listeners, averaging 8.5. Both reviewers went straight to the same thing.

“the transitions are the peak of this album. I thought disc 1 to be more consistent in the quality of songs but disc 2 had higher peaks”
@leonardodoprado on Half Blood (BloodLuxe)
“transitions are beautiful.”
@jake on Half Blood (BloodLuxe)

If an hour is a lot, a reasonable shortcut is to start with disc two — the original Half Blood, where that reviewer heard the higher peaks — and come back for disc one after.

Are the earlier slayr albums worth it?

Worth it if you’re already a fan; less so as a starting point, going by our ratings. Gaia 2 (2024) scored a 6.0 and HeavenTunes (2025) a 5.5. HeavenTunes is the longest of the earlier albums, at 16 tracks and 43 minutes, and our reviewer singled out its ending:

“finishes pretty strongly w/ the final 3 tracks.”
@jake on HeavenTunes

Those are “JetSetRadio”, “HadMyBack / SOS” and “OneOfAKind”. Further back, Gaia (2023) got a 4.5, with @jake hearing “flashes of potential”, and Stay Safe (2024) a 2.5, the lowest slayr score on Curate. The two earliest projects, lost files (exclusives) and BeFour My Creation (both 2022, 7 and 8 tracks), haven’t been rated on Curate yet.

What about the singles?

Between projects, slayr puts out a steady run of standalone releases:“Move Her Body”, “Set In Stone”, “Just Like Mine” and “Slay Pro” in the second half of 2025, then “Turn It Up”, “Countdragons”, “Power 4” and “Homerunner” in spring 2026. Two of them also live on Half Blood: “Set In Stone” closes it, and “Power 4” appears on one edition. You can find all of them on slayr’s artist page.
