Curate Charts: September 2026
Every album logged on Curate in September 2026, ranked by rating — 13 entries from 3 listeners, with a beabadoobee discography run, four same-month releases, and a lot of rage rap.
September was a small month on Curate: 13 journal entries from 3 listeners, covering 13 different albums. Nobody logged the same record twice, so this isn’t a chart in the Billboard sense — it’s a ranked look at everything that got a rating, plus what the month says about where the community’s ears were. Every number below comes straight from the ratings people logged; nothing is estimated.
What was the highest-rated album on Curate in September?
Pylon by beabadoobee, at 9.0 out of 10. It came out on September 18 and was logged on the 29th. That is one rating from one listener, so read it as a strong recommendation rather than a consensus. The reviewer framed it as the record where her long-running interest in emo and punk finally takes over a whole project:
“This is the first time shes fully embraced the genre sonically and visually for a full cohesive project/era.”
Here is the full month, highest rating first. Each album has exactly one September rating.
The average across all 13 entries was 6.8. Ties are listed in the order they were logged.
Which albums had more than one rating?
Only one album in this list has been rated by more than one person in total: REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE by Genesis Owusu, which picked up its second rating in September (6.5, after a 7.5 in June) for a two-listener average of 7.0. We’d normally want at least two ratings before calling anything a top album, and in September nothing cleared that bar within the month. That’s the honest state of it.
Which artist was logged the most?
beabadoobee, with four albums — a straight run through Patched Up (2018), Loveworm (2019), Fake It Flowers (2020) and then the new Pylon. All four were logged by the same listener: the three older records on September 15 and 16, just before Pylon came out, and Pylon itself on the 29th. The scores climb in release order: 7.0, 7.0, 7.5, 9.0.
What genres were people listening to?
Going by the genre tags Spotify attaches to each artist, two scenes accounted for most of the month. Rage rap covered four albums (COCOON, c, Pretti Loves U 2 and SEDITION), and bedroom pop covered the four beabadoobee records. The rage rap entries also scored lower on average, 5.5 against 7.6 for bedroom pop, though with four ratings apiece that gap is a mood, not a trend.
The rest was scattered: Fugazi’s post-hardcore, Curta'n Wall’s black and folk metal, The Life Of Pablo under plain rap, and two artists (Olivia Rodrigo and Genesis Owusu) that carry no Spotify genre tag at all. Lucy Bedroque’s c is tagged rage rap, hyperpop and cloud rap, so it counts toward each.
“Big fan of albums that sound like they could have been made in several different decades”
How many albums were reviewed on Curate for the first time?
Twelve of the 13. Every album except REDSTAR WU got its first-ever Curate rating in September, and 11 of the 13 entries came with a written review rather than just a score.
Four of the albums were also released in September 2026: SEDITION on the 11th, then COCOON, c and Pylon all on the 18th. The rest of the month reached back as far as 1989. You can see how this year’s releases rank overall on the best albums of 2026 page.
Is September typical for Curate?
It was a quiet one. August had 14 entries from 5 listeners and July had 18 from 5. Curate is young, and these monthly charts will get more interesting — and more statistically meaningful — as more people log what they’re hearing.
